Kids love to make bubbles. Of course, you can purchase bubble solution virtually anywhere and provide your children with the tools they need to make colorful bubbles to float in the air. Instead of using this ready-made bubble solution, consider making your own. The size and strength of the bubbles you can blow when you use glycerin in the bubble solution might amaze you.

Step 1

Measure and pour 5 cups of distilled water into the bowl. Distilled water works best for bubble solution because it does not contain any chemicals or impurities.

Step 2

Add 1/2-cup of Joy or Dawn dishwashing detergent and 1/8-cup of glycerin to the distilled water. These brands of detergent produce the best bubbles. Glycerin helps to make the bubbles strong enabling them to be exceptionally large.

Step 3

Mix the ingredients with the spoon and then pour it into the plastic jar. Use bubble wands to blow bubbles.

Step 4

Create your own large bubble wand by untwisting a wire hanger and making it into a circle shape with a handle. Pour the bubble solution into a large shallow pan or a cookie baking tray that has a lip around the edge.
