  • During college, Mina worked in a lab to develop magnetic polymers that could be used in 3D printing applications.
  • She consulted with an award-winning astrophysicist while writing an article about dark matter for the Berkeley Scientific Journal.
  • Despite having little formal training, she learned the principles of mechanical engineering and machining to help build a formula-style racecar.

Experience

Mina has been working as a professional writer for Static Media since 2020 and moved to edit for Sciencing in 2024. With a lifelong appreciation for all things STEM, she got her start in the scientific field by studying chemistry while also satisfying various other obsessions by learning bits of engineering and astrophysics on the side. During that time, she realized she could combine her love of science with her love of writing, publishing articles about recent research on topics like clean energy, self-healing polymers, and two-dimensional materials, among others.

Education

Mina has a bachelor's degree in chemistry with a concentration in materials science from the University of California, Berkeley.
