How To Calculate Water Volume In A Round Container
Calculating the water volume in a round container is a basic task that you can use in science, gardening and the kitchen. The key to this measurement is to understand some terms that are part of the equation such as radius, which is the distance from the center of a circle to the edge. Finding the water volume of a round container, once you know all of the key elements, takes a few moments.
Step 1
Measure the radius of the container. You can do this by measuring the distance between the center of the round container to the edge. This is the "r" in the equation.
Step 2
Measure the height of the container. This becomes your "h" in the equation.
Step 3
Find "r" squared. The "r" is the radius, so multiply "r" times "r." Multiple the result by "h," or the height. Use a calculator if the numbers are to cumbersome.
Step 4
Multiple the answer by 3.142. Use a calculator if the numbers are to cumbersome. The result is the water volume of your round container.
