How To Change 1/4 To A Decimal Form
Fractions are portions of whole numbers. They contain a top portion called the numerator and a bottom portion known as the denominator. The numerator is the count of how many portions of the denominator are present. Decimals are types of fractions. The only difference is that the denominator of a decimal is one. Fractions are easier to visualize, while decimals are easier to use in mathematical computations and numerical analysis.
Step 1
Locate the numerator. The numerator is the top portion of the fraction, or 1 in this case.
Step 2
Locate the denominator. The denominator is the bottom portion of the fraction, or 4 in this case.
Step 3
Divide the numerator by the denominator to the hundredths place. The result of 1 divided by 4 is 0.25.
