Rheem Manufacturing Company was established in the 1920s by two brothers, Richard and Donald Rheem. Rheem, which started with water heaters, has become a leader in plumbing supplies, with offices and showrooms in the United States and additional locations worldwide. The Physical Attributes
The Rheem 72-30-1 water heater is from the Warrior Series. It has a capacity of 20 gallons and is 31 inches high and 17-3/4 inches in diameter. The height of the hot and cold water outlet connection is 25-1/2 inches, as is the relief valve. The shipping weight is approximately 62 pounds. The Rheem 72-30-1 contains high-efficiency heating elements, and the individual tank design reduces heat loss. The tank lining is exclusive Rheemglass porcelain that is corrosion-resistant and will prolong tank life.
The Water Heater
The anode equalizing rod will stop aggressive water action. The water heater features a temperature-control thermostat and has an over-temperature protector to automatically cut off the power in the event of excess-temperature situations. All the connections are 3/4-inch. The heaters are furnished with standard 240-volt AC, single-phase non-simultaneous wiring and a 2,000-watt heating element. The electrical junction box is located above the heating elements for easy connection. The Rheem 72-30-1 water heater is available in side-connect only.

Temperature and Upgrading
The factory setting is 120 degrees, but that temperature can be can be adjusted if a higher or lower temperature is preferred. If a water heater of this capacity serves a house, apartment or mobile home well, but the bathroom is upgraded or a second bathroom with tub and/or shower capabilities is added, an upgrade to a higher-capacity water heater will be advisable.
The Rheem 72-30-1 water heater meets and often exceeds the H.U.D. Safety and Construction Standards and ASHRAE 90A-80 and National Appliance Energy Conservation Act (NaECA) requirements. The water heater also meets or exceeds all state energy-efficiency criteria for energy-consuming products. The design was evaluated in accordance with Part 3280.707(d)(1) or (2) of H.U.D. Mobile Home Safety and Construction Standards for Energy Efficiency.
