Types Of Goniometers
A goniometer is an optical tool used to measure angles. Goniometers have a variety of uses in science and industry, and there are many types.
Audio Goniometers
In sound production, a signal contains stereo or mono qualities, which relates to the sources of the sound. Sound and recording engineers utilize audio goniometers to measure how much stereo sound is present in a given signal.
Communications Goniometers
Communications goniometers locate the direction communications data originates from. Because of this, the military and various intelligence agencies primarily utilize communications goniometers.
Crystallography Goniometers
Crystallography goniometers measure the angle that appears between different surfaces of the crystal. This information has a number of uses in identifying rock and mineral types.
Therapeutic Goniometers
Physical and occupational therapists utilize goniometers to measure the range of motion patients display during therapy sessions. This helps therapists to monitor and measure the progress of patients.
Scientific Goniometers
Scientific-angle goniometers measure surface tension and most commonly are used for physical and Earth sciences. Gonioreflectors measure how reflective a surface is.
